Paper industry bosses in Germany have rejected claims by the Federal Election Commission that a lack of paper might hinder the timing of the country's early elections.
Early general elections are due to be held in Germany after the collapse of the ruling coalition.
Federal Election Commissioner Ruth Brand recently caused consternation, at least in the paper industry, when she suggested that the timing of the election could be influenced by a shortage of paper.
This has since been contradicted by numerous experts in the industry.
Among other players, paper merchant Igepa said that sufficient paper resources were available to meet all election needs. Together with the partners in the printing industry, the paper industry was positioned to provide the necessary capacities for printing and logistics of election materials throughout Germany.
