Holmen has decided to invest in a biofuel boiler at the paperboard mill of its subsidiary Iggesund in Workington, UK. The new facility is to be commissioned in April 2013 and will cost about SEK1.1bn (€122m). With a design output of 150MW and an estimated production of 325 GWh of electricity and 420 GWh of thermal energy per year it is supposed to meet the mills entire energy needs in the form of electricity and steam.
