Holmen has started union negotiations to cut jobs at its Braviken Paper Mill. The company explained that continued poor profitability and increasing competition on the market required a reduction of fixed costs which would result in layoffs. The planned measure is said to affect around 80 of the 600 people employed at the mill. Holmen produces white and coloured newsprint as well as directory paper with a total capacity of 750,000 tpy at Braviken Paper Mill.
