Ordinary recovered paper grades have typically been left untouched, although suppliers were unable to replicate a few of November's peak prices. A few recovered paper merchants have even apparently charged a few Euros more than they did in November. Conversely, suppliers of high grades generally had to swallow price cuts. While market players reported a few cases of unchanged prices, the trend was clearly pointing downward.
Recovered paper availability remained low in Italy in December. Collection volumes have apparently been much lower than usual for this month, continuing November's trend. With less new paper being made, less material was in circulation on the whole, several insiders pointed out.
