Katz Group, a subsidiary of the German specialty paper manufacturer Koehler Paper Group, is definitely closing its board mill in Großschirma. According to the company, board production has been shut down since 10 August. Großschirma plant used to produce some 10,000 tpy of wood pulp board for the production of beer coasters. Katz Group blames its decision on weak demand for coasters, especially on the US market.
