The paper industry is trying to charge more for kraftliner in the UK. However, elevating kraftliner prices is proving difficult because customers are unwilling to swallow higher prices in the summer. Manufacturers noted that demand for brown kraftliner was generally healthy, but the market was not tight enough, yet.
Kraftliner imports from North America apparently subsided at the start of the third quarter, but were said to remain relatively high.
