Canadian pulp produver Mercer has shelved its plans to invest in the production of dissolving pulp. Lee stated that although the feasibility studies were favourable and did not identify any material technical impediments, the company had decided to postpone its plans as a result of significant new dissolving capacity coming online and due to certain ongoing technical and equip-ment developments.
