A mixed picture is emerging of Poland's uncoated woodfree paper market. While insiders pointed to good capacity utilisation rates for copy paper, demand for offset paper proved weak in the first quarter of this year. As March came to an end, it was unclear whether planned mark-ups of up to 8% would take effect during the second quarter. A few market players anticipate that prices will jump by 3-5%, yet others were not entirely convinced that mark-ups would happen at all.
