Softwood pulp prices loose steam. Fluff pulp suppliers implement another price increase in May
Manufacturers of softwood pulp met with little success in implementing price hikes for May deliveries. According to EUWID source, the NBSK price hike of $20-30 metr.t, which was originally planned for April, failed again in May and prices were left unchanged at previous month’s level.
The same prices will also apply for deliveries at the beginning of June, an NBSK producer told EUWID.
As was already apparent at the end of April, fluff pulp prices in May saw a renewed increase. A few EUWID sources believe that there will be no further increase in fluff pulp prices in June as availability has significantly improved in May compared with last month.
