After almost seven weeks of industrial action the salaried employees' union Proliitto (Pro) and the employer representative Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF) have settled the labour dispute. All industrial action is to cease at 23 May at the latest. The agreement was reached on Wednesday evening; the negotiating parties accepted the proposal of the national conciliator. Salaries will be raised by €48 per month or 1.5% at minimum, moreover, the individual companies are supposed to negotiate another 1% increase with their employees. The new collective agreement is valid until 31 March 2012.
