There are currently discussions on the white-lined chipboard market about possible price increases. A few companies had announced hikes in the past months and are trying to implement these in Europe.
Now, German producer Weig has also announced higher prices. The company wants to charge more for GD board from 1 April, but did not specify the amount.
Weig said the step was necessary due to the persistently high costs for raw materials, energy and auxiliary materials. The company had cushioned additional costs internally by optimising processes, but this was not sufficient to fully compensate for the high costs, it said. By passing on increased costs, the availability of products and services would be ensured.
