Burgo continues market-related downtime at the Avezzano paper mill in Italy. The company started commercial downtime at the site on May 14 in order to address a weak market situation for CWF paper.

The market-related downtime at Burgo Group's Avezzano coated woodfree paper mill continues. While production on paper machine PM 2 has been resumed on 21 May, after one week of downtime, production on PM 1 is still offline. The trade union Slc-Cgil reported that the 120,000 tpy PM 1 might resume production on 4 June. Burgo confirmed that PM 1 remained offline due to the state of the market, but did not want to comment on the exact timing of the restart.

The Avezzano complex is home to two paper machines with a total capacity of 270,000 tpy of woodfree coated and one-side coated paper. Both paper machines were temporarily idled on 14 May in response to slow demand.
