Manufacturers of 80 g woodfree white envelope paper have plenty of work on their hands, their earnings position, however, seems to be unsatisfactory. Although the costs for raw materials, additives, energy and logistics have continued to rise, no price increases for white envelope paper could be pushed through in the first quarter. With regard to further price hikes in the pulp segment, price adjustments are now to be implemented in the second quarter. Producers of white envelope paper have issued notions of an extra 5-8% or €30-40/t.
