Although many paper manufacturers had been pushing for price reductions in October, it appears their attempts were once again unsuccessful.

While prices for the main grades remain steady, one Scandinavian producer has announced a price hike for CTMP pulp (hardwood and softwood) as well as groundwood pulp, effective for all new orders from 1 November 2021. The mark-ups apply to all destinations and are said to reflect the rapid rise in energy costs, especially for electricity, as well as higher costs for chemicals and transport.
