Italy's recycled corrugated case material producer Cartiere del Polesine has suspended production at one of its two mills. Temporary production downtime is likely to last until Monday.

Production at Cartiere del Polesine's paper mill in Loreo in Italy's Rovigo province has been standing idle since Monday. The company suspended manufacturing activities due to high energy prices and plans to keep the machines down for a whole week. However, a longer downtime cannot be excluded. It depends on the further development of gas prices, a company spokesperson said.

Cartiere del Polesine runs two paper machines at the Loreo mill with a total production capacity of 280 tpd, approximately 90,000 tpy of recycled corrugating medium. The mill produces Italian grades fluting and medium in basis weights of 105-170 g/m².

Production at the company's 250,000 tpy Adria paper mill is not affected.
