Recovered paper prices continue to edge up in Germany

Prices on the German recovered paper market have shown little movement again in April. Prices for the mass grades supermarket paper and board (1.04) and mixed paper (1.02) rose slightly compared to March.

However, the extent of the increases is said to vary by region. Market participants in the west, in particular, report higher mark-ups than in the eastern parts of the country, where prices have tended to move sideways, at most posting slight gains.

For medium and higher recovered paper grades, prices were mostly reported as unchanged.

The price decline seen in recent months therefore appears to have largely come to a halt in April.
