Due to rising costs – energy, chemicals, and recently also recovered paper – price increases for recycled containerboard in Germany and other European markets are again on the producers' agenda. At least three leading containerboard producers announced that they would raise their sales prices as of 1 February. From what manufacturers say, the issue of Christmas discounts at the end of 2010 was a very last-minute affair and over and done with very quickly.
