Rottneros is planning to cut about 25 positions at the Rottneros pulp mill in order to save costs and improve profitability at the site. Negotiations with employees' representatives are said to start immediately. The company blames its decision on a weak demand for mechanical pulp from publication paper manufacturers.
Rottneros pulp mill has an installed capacity of 170,000 tpy of groundwood and CTMP pulp. According to the company, output at the mill has been already reduced this year and more downtime is planned for the autumn period due to weak market conditions.
