Sappi Southern Africa is considering the closure of the Adamas paper mill in Port Elizabeth. The company said it had initiated a consultation process with employees and union representatives on the future of the site, which is suffering from difficult market conditions and sustained input cost increase. Adamas paper mill has an annual capacity of 40,000 t of uncoated writing and printing paper.
