Sappi Fine Paper Europe has entrusted Metso with the delivery of new quality control systems (QCS) for its mills in Stockstadt, Maastricht and Alfeld. According to Metso, the replacement of four older quality control systems with new ones will help increase raw material yields and improve end product quality. Rebuild work is scheduled for August, September and December this year.
Sappi runs a total of eight paper machines at its Stockstadt, Maastricht and Alfeld sites. The company puts the combined production capacity of the three mills at 1,04 million tpy of coated and uncoated woodfree and specialty papers.
