Sofidel takes over consumer and away-from-home tissue company Cellynne Paper to enter US tissue market.
Italian tissue and hygiene paper products manufacturer Sofidel has completed the acquisition of the US tissue paper manufacturer Cellynne Paper. The deal was closed on 31 August. Sofidel did not disclose the value of the transaction.
According to Sofidel, Cellynne Paper is a fully integrated tissue manufacturer supplying to the consumer tissue and away-from-home markets. The company runs three facilities in the US and employs more than 300 people. Cellynne Paper has an installed capacity of 70,000 tpy of tissue.
Sofidel is one of the leading manufacturers of tissue and sanitary paper products in Europe with 25 production sites and an installed capacity of 950,000 tpy of tissue. With the acquisition of Cellynne Paper the Italian group is making its entry into the US market. Sofidel's production capacity will rise to above 1,0 million t.
