Negotiations between the Finnish Transport Workers' Union AKT and employers have so far not been successful. A new round of negotiations is starting today at 1 pm EET.

Both parties are even still very far from reaching a compromise, according to a press statement by the AKT.

A settlement proposal in the road transport sector has been made, but the articles to ensure good working conditions were dropped and the proposed wage solution was inadequate, according to the union.

Apart from the stevedoring segment, where strikes will last until further notice, the strikes in the other segments will end on 21 February at midnight or on 22 February in the morning.

The unions has already announced a new round of strikes in Feburary.
