Due to growing demand for label papers UPM will increase label paper production capacity at its Tervasaari mill in Valkeakoski, Finland. A rebuild of the mill’s PM 8 will increase the capacity by almost 30,000 tonnes annually, UPM said. Installation work will start in March 2011 and the main part of it is expected to be done in early 2012. Full new capacity is to come on stream during the second quarter of 2012. UPM’s Tervasaari paper mill in Valkeakoski manufactures some 360,000 tpy of label, envelope and kraft papers. The mill employs about 400 people.
