Suppliers of coated and uncoated fine papers have launched a new round of price talks in Germany in June.

Woodfree uncoated paper producers are largely optimistic about their chances of success on the German market amidst persistently strong demand from Europe and overseas and dwindling imports into Europe. Some prices have reportedly already risen in part.

Woodfree coated paper manufacturers also want to brave the months of slow demand and consistently work to increase their prices. The likelihood of success is thought to be slimmer for coated paper owing to the sizeable surplus on the supply side and lacklustre demand.
