Along with quarterly results, Arctic Paper announced measures aimed at improving the competitiveness of its paper business. Furthermore the company expects to focus more on packaging papers and has started production of such grades at its site in Munkedal, Sweden.

The measures to improve profitability of the paper business include the closure of PM 7 at the Grycksbo mill in Sweden, job cuts at the Munkedal site as well as a relocation of its headquarters from Poznań to Kostrzyn.

In an effort to become less dependant on the graphic paper market, the company recently introduced Munken Kraft, a kraft paper for high-quality applications such as paper carrier bags. The goal is to generate a quarter of sales from products other than graphic paper by 2022.
