August Koehler to install PM for flexible packaging paper

31 Jul 2017 −

A new paper machine for the production of flexible packaging paper will be installed at Papierfabrik August Koehler's Kehl facility. This marks the company's entry into this market segment.

German Papierfabrik August Koehler plans to enter the market for flexible packaging paper. The company says it intends to invest more than €300m in its Kehl mill for this purpose. The project is to create at least 100 new jobs.

A new specialty paper machine will constitute the core investment at the Kehl site. The new PM will have a capacity of significantly more than 100,000 tpy, according to Koehler.

The project is part of a major investment programme. By 2020, Koehler plans to invest around €500m in its growth. Further details on other projects are yet to be announced.
