German cartonboard producer Baden Board has carried out various maintenance and upgrade works on the board machine at its only site in Gernsbach, Germany.

The machine was idled for seven days and re-started operation at the end of October, the company said, adding that several components had been installed including a new Voith headbox for the top layer of the board.

In another major project, Baden Board has upgraded the board machine’s drive control: the switch to digital controls has reportedly made machine running much more stable as variations in tension are automatically corrected.
