PM 10 was transferred from the Tervasaari mill to Skärblacka in 2017 and will increase the mill's total MG kraft paper capacity to 180,000 tpy.

Billerud Korsnäs has wrapped up a project to modernise and expand its mill in Skärblacka, Sweden and officially commissioned the 100,000 tpy machine-glazed (MG) kraft paper machine PM 10 at the site. The opening ceremony took place on 5 September.

Test runs on PM 10 had commenced in April, with the first paper reel manufactured at the end of the same month. The company had previously said that the paper machine would reach its full capacity of 90,000 to 100,000 tpy in the first quarter of 2019.

The SEK1.3bn (about €142m) investment project involved modernising and expanding the site. Billerud Korsnäs used to operate the machine in Tervasaari, Finland as PM 7 up until autumn 2016. In 2017, the machine was transferred to Skärblacka and reassembled. The upgrade included the installation of a film press for surface treatment of MG paper.
