Billerud Korsnäs said it would evaluate possibilities to increase production capacity at the group’s existing facilities or via acquisitions.

The group has presented its new strategy "with focus on attractive markets with good growth opportunities and product segments where the company has a strong ability to compete."

According to Billerud Korsnäs, Europe will remain the main market, however, new business opportunities will be explored, specifically for paperboard in the Americas.

The group puts the annual investments in mill maintenance and development at SEK1.5bn to SEK1.7bn until 2025. These investments were necessery to maximise the organic growth opportunity.

Moreover, transformation towards a professional sourcing organisation for wood supply was an integral part of the strategy, the group said. Billerud Korsnäs reportedly wants to build long term partnerships to secure a competitive fibre availability.
