Blue Paper restarts operations with increased capacity

More recycled containerboard can
now be produced at the Blue paper mill
01 Dec 2020 −

Blue Paper took a six week break at its recycled containerboard mill to do some upgrades. Production has now restarted and will reach higher levels in the future.

Blue Paper's recycled containerboard mill in Strasbourg, France is up and running again after a six week downtime. The company had stopped operations in order to upgrade the dryer section of the paper machine. Blue Paper said it was now focusing on the performance ramp-up in order to achieve the nominal production volumes as quickly as possible.

Thanks to the upgrade, Blue Paper's production capacity has increased by 40,000 t to 440,000 tpy. The mill produces recycled corrugating medium and testliner in grammages between 70 and 135 g/m², concentrating mainly on the lightweight grades. Blue Paper is a joint venture between Belgium's VPK Packaging and the German Klingele group.
