RDM had to interrupt production at the Villa Santa Lucia board mill for 23 days after it was blocked from using the Cosilam sewage tretament facility.
Italy's leading recycled board producer Reno de Medici (RDM) resumed production at the Villa Santa Lucia board mill after more than three weeks of forced production downtime due to wastewater treatment issues. According to the company, the Villa Santa Lucia board mill is back in operations as of 1 March.
Two days before, the Frosinone Court of Appeal lifted the blockade of the Cosilam wastewater treatment plant and allowed Reno de Medici to use the facility as contractually agreed. It is now up to A&A, the company that operates the Cosilam sewage treatment plant, to resolve the problems of the wastewater treatment plant in order to comply with environmental regulations, a company spokesman explained in reference to the court's decision.
RDM Villa Santa Lucia mill houses one board machine with a production capacity of 220,000 tpy of white-lined chipboard. The production portfolio includes GD liner grades Vinciflexo and Vinciliner in basis weights of140-290 g/m².
