02 Jun 2021 −

Boxway is well positioned to capitalise on the shortage of suitable packaging on the UK market, according to the company.

Boxway Packaging Group, a newly incorporated corrugated packaging company, has acquired Saica Pack's facilities in Exeter, Peterlee and Telford.

Boxway is an independent group in the hands of Andrew Woollard, who has nearly 40 years' industry experience working with SCA, Smurfit Kappa and Saica, among others. Mr Woollard will be at the helm of Boxway as the company's CEO, and will  "steer the growth strategy [...] of Boxway, which will be underpinned by a significant investment programme over the next 3 years," the company said.

"With the help of some exciting investment plans our ambition is to grow into new markets and alongside challenger brands that have evolved from the pandemic," Mr Woolard explained.

Saica "remain committed to supporting the business and its three new sites after the transfer to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing growth," the Spanish group announced.
