Demand for sack kraft paper in Germany is said to be lower on a year-on-year basis, but still satisfactory. However, suppliers could not prevent prices from falling a little in the third quarter, especially in the brown segment.

Germany's market for sack kraft paper in the third quarter was again calmer than in the same period of the previous year. However, "calm" did not necessarily mean "weak", said EUWID respondents, who stressed that call-offs remained brisk. At the beginning of October, delivery times were still 6-8 weeks.

Slight price mark-downs were achieved for brown sack kraft paper in the third quarter. Yet prices did not fall as much as buyers had asked for. For the white grades, prices were usually stable. There were only rare mentions of slight reductions. According to industry experts, it seems that neither producers nor converters are interested in larger price cuts at the moment.
