Buchmann discontinues FBB production
26 Mar 2021 −

Today is last production day for Buchmann's FBB machine.

As announced in November 2020, the company will discontinue production at its BM 2 with 26 March being the last day of production, the company said in response to a query from EUWID. The machine will be sold and the company has already started negotiating with dealers.

Buchmann added that it none of the 30 employees affected by the stop had to be given notice for operational reasons.

Until recently, Buchmann produced roughly 30,000 tpy of folding box board on the machine. The company is now focussing on producing recycled board. The BM 3 can produce nearly 300,000 tpy of GD and GT board. Buchmann reportedly has a string of investments planned for the coming years that include making the machine more energy efficient.
