Italy's recycled board producer Cartiera di Momo suspends production activities but continues selling board from stock.

Production at the Italian recycled board manufacturer Cartiera di Momo has been idle since the end of June/beginning of July. The company has filed an application under Italy's ordinary wage guarantee scheme (cassa integrazione guadagni ordinaria) to temporarily lay off the entire workforce until 30 August, and plans to resume operations in September under new management.

Production at the board mill in Momo was originally interrupted following a fire in the recovered paper yard. There were no reports of injuries or damage to the production equipment. According to trade union sources, various factors played a role in the company's decision to delay the restart of production. The sale and distribution office will reportedly remain open in the coming weeks.
