Cartiere del Polesine delays investment in new PM

09 Apr 2019 −

New corrugated case material capacities were planned to be installed at Cartiere del Polesine's Adria site in Italy. Now, plans for the 300,000 tpy PM have been postponed.

Italy's recycled corrugated case material manufacturer Cartiere del Polesine has temporarily suspended its plans to invest in a new paper machine at the company's Adria site. The company did not wish to comment on the exact reasons for this step, but stated that the current situation on the Italian and European markets for recycled corrugated case material had certainly played a role in the decision.

Cartiere del Polesine announced the investment project last February. The project involved the construction of a new paper machine with a production capacity of 300,000 tpy of lightweight recycled containerboard in basis weights of 70-120 g/m². The company had earmarked an investment of €150-200m for the project.
