Last week Chinese authorities issued the seventh batch of import licences, which covered 640,000 t of RCP. In the seven batches issued so far, approximately 60 companies received licences to import waste paper. The overall volume so far sums up to 5.52 million t.
There is also much speculation on the market as to how much RCP will be allowed to be imported this year in total. Experts believe the figure to be between 18 and 21 million tons. Last year, nearly 26 million t of RCP were imported, while the 2016 figure stood at 28 million t.
