Newsprint and LWC production at Perlen in Switzerland and packaging production in Müllheim, Germany, which has been down for several days, will be retarted no later than tomorrow.

Swiss CPH group will be able to soon restart operations at its paper and packaging divisions in Perlen, Switzerland and Müllheim, Germany. Production of newsprint, LWC and packaging at the sites has been down since 7 January when a cyber attack hit the group's IT systems worldwide, forcing it to shut down the systems in a controlled manner.

CPH announced that it had now restored the IT systems and that production at the affected sites should resume no later than in the course of tomorrow, 13 January. The chemistry division was not affected and was therefore able to continue production normally.

The CPH Group does not expect any material impact on its business performance in 2022 resulting from the incident.

Perlen Papier - Switzerland's only magazine paper mill - has an annual capacity of 560,000 t of newsprint and LWC and recycling capacities for up to 500,000 tpy of waste paper. Perlen Packaging makes packaging films for medicinal blister packs.
