Coated fine paper market needs consolidation, market insiders say

Private equity company CVC Capital Partners, owner of coated fine paper producer Lecta, has reportedly hired Bank UBS of Switzerland either to sell its stake in the company or to float it on the Spanish stock market, according to reports from online newspaper El Confidencial and news agency Reuters, quoting sources “close to the deal”. CVC declined to comment on the issue but confirmed that Lecta was still part of its portfolio.

CVC had tried to sell its stake in Lecta in the past. In 2011, talks between CVC and a potential buyer about the sale of Lecta ended with no result. In 2014 a spokesperson of its Italian competitor Burgo said that Lecta and Burgo were in exploratory talks about strategic options for the two companies and about consolidation in the industry.
