Decor paper prices unchanged in third quarter

05 Aug 2014 −

Decor paper prices mostly remained stable at the beginning of the third quarter on European markets since raw material costs have barely changed and supply and demand are balanced thanks to further idling.

A few converters tried to achieve price reductions by pointing to the weakening demand and spot deals being done in other regions, but they had little success.

Decor paper producers want to maintain this level at least into September and they hope to create some scope again for slight price increases. For July and August, most decor paper producers are planning longer holiday-related downtime in order to compensate for the demand decline seen in the past three months.
