EC approves Solidus takeover by Centerbridge


The EC said the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns,
because there is no overlap between the companies' activities.

German private equity company Aurelius Equity Opportunities has received the green light to sell the solid board and packaging solutions company Solidus Solutions to Centerbridge Partners.

The European Commission (EC) has approved the acquisition of sole control of the Dutch packaging company Solidus Solutions by the US investment company Centerbridge Partners. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns. There is no overlap between the companies' activities. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure, the EC said.

Solidus Solutions specializes in recovered fibre-based graphic board and solid board packaging for food, beverage, horticulture, consumer products and industrial applications.
