With the purchase, EBB will become the largest stockist and distributor of cartonboard in the UK and Ireland.

Elliott Baxter Board (EBB) has acquired Uniboard, Ireland's leading carton board merchant. The company is active both in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and had sales of €16m last year, EBB reported. The purchase price was not published.

When combining sales, the EBB Group will be the largest stockist/distributer of cartonboard in UK and Ireland. The Group will now hold an extensive range of board with over 15,000 pallets of cartonboard and packaging products in stock for immediate delivery, according to EBB.

Uniboard will continue to operate under the guidance of the current owners Myles and Sharon Fitzpatrick. The investment from EBB will open up supply opportunities and allow the Irish business to further develop and grow in its local markets.
