Fire at SCA Ortviken causes two-day downtime

SCA's publication paper mill in Ortviken, Sweden, was down due to a fire that hit the site on Friday, 25 October.

A company spokesperson explained the fire was caused by a compressor breakdown, damaging electrical cables. Nobody was injured and no machinery got damaged in the fire. Production was resumed on Sunday, 27 October.

The Ortviken mill houses three paper machines with a total capacity of 775,000 tpy of coated and uncoated mechanical paper.
