With this acquisition, Fiskeby will nearly double its capacity for recycled board production.

Swedish recycled board manufacturer Fiskeby Board has agreed to acquire Germany-based Baden Board. German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) has already approved the transaction, writes Fiskeby.

Baden Board is a producer of 100 per cent recycled cartonboard and also provides grass-based board and packaging solutions. By adding the capacity of the Baden mill, Fiskeby will almost double its output, extend its product portfolio and strengthen its geographical reach in central Europe.

Baden Board produces approximately 150,000 tpy of recycled cartonboard in basis weights from 300 to 600 g/m². The company's subsidiary Baden Packaging converts about 60,000 tpy of cartonboard for customers in the food, non-food and beverage industries.

Today Fiskeby is the only company in Scandinavia to manufacture packaging board made of 100 per cent recovered fibre. The company operates a board machine with a capacity to produce up to 170,000 tpy of cartonboard in grammages ranging from 280 to 500 g/m².
