Fresh price demands for kraftliner

13 Jul 2021 −

Buyers in Germany report that a number of kraftliner suppliers have announced fresh price increases for August.

Buyers of unbleached grades expect to have little manoeuvring room since brown kraftliner is in very short supply and procuring material is difficult. Supply from North America and Russia is still low. Export volumes from USA to Europe were lower by one third in the first quarter. Observers expect the market to heat up further due to scheduled maintenance breaks.

EUWID respondents suspect that there will be a greater need for talks on white-top kraftliner pricing. Material was not as short as unbleached grades; people report minor delays in deliveries time and again. Suppliers find it difficult to cater to additional orders and there is barely any buffer to cushion production disruptions.
