German kraftliner market in early talks for deliveries in 2022

Price development for unbleached kraftliner
25 Aug 2021 −

Supply continues to be tight on Germany's kraftliner market. Sellers are therefore considering price hikes from October and have already begun price talks for deliveries in the new year.

In view of the tight supply situation on the kraftliner market, price talks have begun for the coming year. The corrugated board industry and its customers want to ensure reliable supply in early 2022.

The supply situation is expected to tighten even more in the fourth quarter, which is usually the strongest quarter of the year for the industry. In addition, it is the time when maintenance tasks are undertaken on paper machines in several regions.

The price hike announced for recycled containerboard in September has encouraged kraftliner producers to consider a similar step in October. However, converters had not yet received any notice in this regard in the third week of August.
