German recycled corrugated case material market remains hectic in September

High raw material costs to prompt another price bump for RCCM.

Producers of recycled corrugated case material and corrugated packaging say the situation on the German market remains hectic. August and the summer holiday season did not lead to the hoped-for easing on the market, neither in terms of volumes nor on the cost side, they say.

Unexpected momentum was seen in the recovered paper market in particular. Despite higher collection rates and sufficient supplies, German recovered paper prices were rising again rather than staying stable, as had been expected, paper producers stated.

In light of this, the price hikes for brown and white recycled corrugated case material implemented in September and a further mark-ups planned for October would be nowhere near sufficient to reach a suitable price level, according to producers.
