Germany: small price hikes for lower recovered paper grades in June

Prices for higher, white recovered paper grades continued on the upward trend in June.

The German recovered paper market remained relatively uneventful in June. For lower recovered paper and deinking grades, there were usually only moderate price increases. However, the so called pulp substitute grades, such as white newsprint/magazine paper and white woodfree uncoated shavings, experienced another round of substantial mark-ups.

A lot of recovered paper was available on the German market in June. This was particularly true for supermarket corrugated paper and board owing to the lack of exports to China, according to market sources in Germany.
