US board and packaging company Graphic Packaging plans to make $600m investment to boost its capacity for coated recycled board. Graphic Packaging said it would install a new board machine with an annual capacity of 454,000 t (500,000 sh.t) of coated recycled board. The new BM was designed to be the largest machine of its kind with the lowest costs in North America, the company stated.
According to Graphic Packaging, it is not yet decided where the machine will be located. The company mentioned the US states of Ohio or Michigan as options for the capacity expansion project. The company plans to have the new board machine operational by 2022.
