Green Bay Packaging to invest $500m in recycled containerboard machine

US company Green Bay Packaging will invest roughly $500m in the construction of a new recycled containerboard mill and the expansion of the company’s shipping container division.

The new state-of-the-art recycled paper mill will replace an existing recycled paper machine. It will more than double existing production capacity and shall become operational in 2021. The mill will use 100% recovered paper as raw material.

In May 2018, Green Bay Packaging also announced the acquisition of Wisconsin Packaging Corp., manufacturer of corrugated packaging and displays located in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
